Neory

We are fifth year chemical engineering students from Malayan Colleges Laguna. We have always been classmates in ALL of our courses since we entered our third year in college. When you are nearing the end of your college life, there will always be times that you would look back, reminisce, and think about the past few years of your hardships, sleepless nights, never-ending tasks, assignments, reports, and other academic stuffs that you had to overcome. Now, we are doing our plant design and the past weeks have been so much more tiring. (Well, that is relative to the past years of being a chemical engineering student.) So we thought to ourselves that we need a breather, a little break from the reality that we are caught in right now.

We have actually attended the ChELTS for the last two consecutive years. We were really anxious to learn about the details of this year’s LTS and when it was announced, we got very excited! First, the place is so awesome and we definitely knew that it would be F-U-N! This will be our last leadership training seminar as college students. Even if there have been lots of expenses for this term, we really ensured to set aside the payment for this event. For some of us, it meant having just burgers for lunch, skipping merienda time, and even being the “kuripot” one for a little while. For we know that sacrificing a little for this, would mean a lot of great things in return.

By attending this program, we know that we would gain more friends from different schools that share the same passion, which is chemical engineering. With all the activities lined up for us, we believe that upon returning home, we would have so much memories and experiences to bring with us. Those are the things that no one can take away from us. Those things will remain in our minds and hearts as long as we would like to. And above all, we know that this seminar will help us to be a better person, a better leader that would work, together with other people, towards the goal of having a much improved society.

--> we won! hurray!

I saw this piece of paper when I was cleaning up my drawer.

It says Dream House and...

living room
kitchen
maids' quarter
bedrooms
guest room
library/office
mini theater
music room
swimming pool
garden
terrace
rooftop
fitness room
prayer room
play room
collections room
garage
storage room

I obviously want a big house, really big one to fit all those rooms that I want.

Its really really official! My heart is overfilled with joy whenever someone says, "Neory parang pumayat ka." or ask, "Neory pumayat ka ba?" I would smile, nod, and thank that person! =p

I have been wanting to lose weight as long as I can remember. This is the time that I really felt good about losing weight. I did not do crash diet. This weight loss started when I entered  Coca-Cola SR1 for my internship. Working in there had exhausted all of my energy for a day-to-day basis. The other thing was, I don't get to have eating breaks in between. As I have phrased it, "Nakakahiyang kumain sa Coke."  I was assigned in the Quality Assurance Department and I must say that work loads in there is continuous. Product sampling and testing goes on and on and on for a day. Coca-Cola SR1 works 24/7. So there, I only get to have coffee and two gardenia bread for breakfast (7am), rice+viand+fruit for lunch (11am), and rice+viand for dinner (6pm).

Now that I am stressed out because of Chemical Engineering, I do ride my bike for cardio activity.

My name came from the names of my mom and dad. Actually, dad and mom. "Neo" is my dad's name. The "ry" part came from my mom's nickname, Glory. Her real name is Gloria though. I haven't actually thought of how difficult to articulate (and not to mention spell) my name until now. Whenever I was asked by bar tenders or cashiers or anyone what my name is, they always get it wrong. The worst was in a fast food. I was sure I clearly said "Neory". Do you know what she wrote? JOY. Wow. I tried my best to recall the time she asked my name and I am certain that I uttered two syllables. How come it became "Joy"? Oh well.

The latest was in QA department. Whenever I introduce myself, the most common comment I get is something like "ang hirap naman bigkasin ng pangalan mo." One exceptional comment was Sir Mau's. He said something like "ha? ang hirap naman. Betty nlng." followed by laughs. I don't get offended when they mispronounce my name or exchange it for another name. I just laugh it off because it really entertains me hearing them call me Nyoyi, Neony, and other variations. My friends sometimes call me Neor, Neo (Nyo), and Ne-yo. But personally, I prefer Neory. It's a beautiful name for me. Ahaha! Well, you can't blame me for saying that. It is my name. It is mine forever.
